A Lady of Resources releases today!
I’m so happy this day is here! A Lady of Resources, the fifth book in the Magnificent Devices #steampunk series, releases today on the major online retailers!
Lizzie’s book was such a joy to write—it’s been cooking away in the back of my head for several months, so when I was finally free to get started, the pages just poured out. You’ll see many familiar faces—Maggie, of course … and Lady Claire, who is proposed to again … the Dunsmuirs and little Willie … Snouts and Lewis and Mrs. Morven … and Tigg, who has grown tall and handsome and is now a lieutenant serving aboard Lady Lucy.
Which interesting fact Lizzie definitely notices!

I see that you created it through PressBooks, as you had previously mentioned you were experimenting with in a blog post. How was it, if I can ask?
I like PressBooks. It’s really easy and the end product is very pretty. It has a couple of glitches (i.e., the author name overwrites the Introduction title) but overall, I think it works better than sending a Word doc through the retailer’s conversion process.
Thanks! That’s good to know — and I’m loving the book! The layout also seems noticeably clean, even with the type enlarged for my aging eyes.

I’ve been telling all my friends how much I love your books, ever since Lady Claire first got behind the wheel of her landau. I figured it was probably about time I let you know how much I’ve been enjoying the series! Please keep it up, I’m very much looking forward to a trip to Penzance.

Although I enjoy speaking English, I sadly act quite hesitant when it comes to reading books written in that language. BUT – your stories of Claire and her friends kept me reading and reading and reading, regardless of that assmued barrier in my head! Thank you so much for many entertaining hours, thank you for all the joy and fear for beloved characters I went through!
And I have to say : I finally found an author I look up to when it comes to strong female characters! I would love to finish my fantasy and steampunk influenced novel one day and strong female characters are so important to me, along with the role of men and women in (my made-up) society generally. Yet again – thank you 🙂
