Old Order Mennonite teenagers on Rumspringa are experimenting with drugs, parties, and even the occult. One night at a barn séance they are hijacked by demons, who ride them off the farm and back to their homes.
Katie Hertzfeld, who had a near death experience in a buggy accident when she was ten, realizes to her shock and dismay that she is the only one who can see the demons. When the entities begin wreaking havoc on her friends as they skip from one person to the next, Katie realizes why God didn’t take her—she has to find a way to either destroy them or send them back through the veil.
And then one particularly destructive demon decides that another school shooting would be fun, and hitches a ride on Caleb Brucker, Katie’s best friend’s brother … and her biggest crush …
