Brilliant Devices releases on Kindle today!

BrilliantDevices by Shelley Adina (February 2013)I’m so excited to release Brilliant Devices, book four in the Magnificent Devices series, that I can’t wait to tell it far and wide. A sensible person would wait until it was available on all the retailers, and then tell everyone, but clearly I’m not being very sensible! So here it is:

Brilliant Devices for Kindle

I do hope you like it! With this book, the “Claire quartet” is concluded, but it’s by no means the end. With blithe disregard for the space/time continuum, we’re going to move five years into the future, when the Mopsies will have their book(s), and Willie as well. To say nothing of Alice …

I hope you enjoy Brilliant Devices!

Thank you so much! Just bought it. My sister and I both enjoy these books so very much. Every character is distinct and multifaceted and I am so looking forward to this read. I guess I have a reason NOT to clean my room tonight. Thanks!

I really am enjoying these books–they’re very clever and the characters are believable and likeable. I love the covers as well (I found the books before I joined this group, and the colors were part of what attracted me to them, plus I like steampunk and strong female characters). They’re wonderful! Congratulations on all of your very hard work. 🙂

I just finished reading the series today, and wanted to say how much I enjoyed them. I am looing forward to the next books – particularly since I have a lot of unanswered questions.
Why did the carbonated coal explode? Will Claire get her patent and get rich? What will her mother say about going to university in Germany. How will Claire and the Mopsies take to speaking German? How will the Mopsies take to being brought up in an upper class German hosehold and taught to speak upper class German, while still speaking lower class English? One foot in each world? Is there a Marie Curie in the alternative Paris, discovering radium? Are the great nations forming alliances and building arms, making possible the Great War? What part does the technology og the lightning rifle play? And where will Claire and the Mopsies be then – at the end of the Belle Epoque – in Germany or England?
And – what did Isobel Churcill REALLY do i the Canadas? Will she go home and become a sufragette? Will she become the first female MP, or PM for that matter? Will she meet Marx? Will there be an English revolution instead of a Rusiian one?
Oh – the joys of alternative history – I simply can’t wait to see your next take on it!

I have enjoyed this series, but, I do not own a Kindle. Will we be able to purchase Brilliant Devices in paperback form…..anytime soon? Thank you.

Yes indeed, the paperback is coming just as soon as I get it created. I’m traveling just now, but when I get home that’s the first thing on my priority list.

I’m a historian resident in England, and have been for over 50 years, and one of my special periods-of-interest is the Victorian Era. My younger son recently gave me a Kindle and suggested I look at the ‘steampunk genre’ knowing I’ve been a lifetime SciFi enthusiast as well as reading every Conan Doyle fiction story that Author wrote – and I found the ‘Magnificent Devices’ Series. Gosh! Wow! and similar complementary words! I just couldn’t turn off my Kindle and bought all four one after the other. My family hardly saw me four a couple of days! Please, please, please, Shelley, tell all your fans when you think you’ll be able to publish the next one in the Series!

Oh my! Mr. Wilson, notes like these are the fuel that keeps me going. Thank you so much! I have to write and turn in another book for my other publisher (Herb of Grace, an Amish romance written as Adina Senft), but immediately after that I’ll be writing Magnificent Devices #5. I hope to release it in the autumn. By all means sign up for my newsletter and you’ll be the first to know when it’s out! –Shelley
