Magnificent Devices at a glance
Canva.com is one of those fun websites where you can create things that make you look like you do marketing for a living. Graphic design is definitely not one of my skills, but the folks at Canva give me images and templates that satisfy the goofy creative itch that says, “Today you must make a book cover! A postcard! An infographic!”
Actually, infographic is a very dry word for an image that gives you a lot of information at a glance. So here’s one I made to show the Magnificent Devices series and the years in which the stories take place.
No, it was not a waste of 30 minutes. Truly, it wasn’t!

Very helpful. I just binge listened to the entire Magnificent Devices series on Audible (how else to spend 12 credits?).
When will, “Fields of Iron” and “Fields of Gold” be released in this format? I can read the paper but the OCD in me also wants to own these in audio format.
Thanks for keeping this series fun and clean. I love steampunk but have a hard time with the pervasive sexuality of so many series. I don’t need the selacious to distract from writing ability, story line, character development.
Ps – the chickens are a brilliant touch. Who needs vampires? 😂
My goodness! Thanks so much for spending those credits on the series when I know you had heaps of choices. Fiona Hardingham is scheduled to go into the studio to narrate Fields of Iron in June, and then I hope we’ll round out the year with Fields of Gold in the autumn. But it all depends on her schedule–she’s popular in both movies and audiobooks.

Hmm, now you have me wondering in what accent are these read in? Having (by random chance) two voice/narration professionals as friends, I do find that it can make or break the listening pleasure of an audiobook. It’s been a while since I listened to an audiobook, mainly because I don’t drive so much these days, but more for the additional signal that holding a book/e-reader gives to others that you are *busy reading* as opposed to just sitting there with earbuds in.
