Summer Windows

Where I live, summer (aka fire season) runs until November 1, so we’re about 3/4 of the way through. To prevent constant checking of the fire scanners, I’ve been applying myself to the “A change is as good as a rest” philosophy, working on projects, both handwork and writing, some of which have been waiting for years.

Among quilters, these are called UFOs (UnFinished Objects).  I finished a quilt that I call “Summer Windows,” which I think began its life as a Kaffe Fassett pattern way back in the mists of time, i.e. before Covid. Next up is to complete my hockey quilt, which I began when Covid hit our shores at the beginning of 2020. Odd that while the quilt is being finished, Covid hasn’t had the courtesy to leave again!

Anyway, here is “Summer Windows,” both under construction and completed. It’s five feet by five feet and will hang at the top of our stairs so we can enjoy it every day.

Hat quilt is gorgeous. I’d love to see the hockey quilt when it’s complete. I’m a Blues fan.

I crochet and have more UFO’s than I can count. Lol
