Recognition
Have you ever had that moment of deja vu when you recognize someone you’ve never met before? I had it last night, when browsing around in a collection of drawings by my favorite Belle Epoque artist, Alphonse Mucha. There, on Plate 18 of the Documents Decoratifs of 1902, were Maggie and Lizzie! (See left, bottom…
Shapers of Worlds
Good news! I’ve finished the short story that will be included in the Shapers of Worlds anthology—tentatively titled “The Knack of Flying.” The title, if it’s allowed to stand, comes from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy: “There is an art to flying, or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw…

A country house party. A broken friendship. A debt that must be paid in blood. When Lady Emilie Selwyn invites Andrew and Lady Claire Malvern to her very first country house party, Claire is delighted to offer her help—until she discovers that Peony Churchill is also on the guest list. But in supporting one friendship,…
MD4 needs a title
I have my laptop, charged and ready to go. I have the month of November, decks cleared and waiting. I have my account at nanowrimo.org and a cluster of oddly shaped word associations scribbled in my notebook that I’m calling an outline. Can you hear the engines revving? That’s me, getting ready to write the…

Review of MD3 from Double Crossing
“Adina’s resourceful, gutsy and vulnerable heroine, Lady Claire Trevelyan, is back in this third and more exciting adventure. Rife with airborne gondolas, pirates, flash floods, pinnacle rocks and a number of villains in the American Wild West, her deft handling of the “Age of Steam” is glorious — and not too overblown as other books…

Thanks, Julia! Writing them is just as much fun … It brings back the joy again!
Bought it! Been wondering — who does those spectacular book covers for you!?
Thank you! I hope you enjoy the book. The art is by the amazing Claudia at phatpuppyart.com, and I have a friend do the lettering. I love these covers, too!
Yea!!!
Oh man oh man oh man. I’m 79% of the way through re-reading the second book, and popped over here to remind myself when the third was coming and discover it’s OUT ALREADY?! My day has just been made.
And I hope you like the dashing character of Captain IAN Hollys 🙂
Ha, yeah. I admit to laughing out loud when I discovered he was described as “dashing” in the very first paragraph he was introduced.
I literally just finished Her Own Devices and was like “Ohh I REALLY want Magnificent Devices-When does it come out?” And then I looked it up and happily discovered it was today! I have been loving the series so far and can’t wait to read this third installment! Will this releasing in book form at some point? I don’t mind kindle books but I really prefer hard copies.
I’m so glad you’re enjoying them 🙂 Yes, I plan on a print edition by Thanksgiving. It takes a little longer than digital, as you can imagine, but it’s coming!
Yay!
I just saw that the third one was out and re-read the first two, then devoured the third! I think the books get even better. I am thrilled there will be a fourth.
Thank you, Tori! I’m having so much fun with them it’s hard to stop 🙂
